Over 50 Years of Keeping Arkansas Connected, Protected and Ready

Technology has changed dramatically since AVC began serving Arkansas more than 50 years ago. What has not changed is the importance of dependable communications, experienced service and having a technology partner you can count on when it matters.

AVC Wireless has grown from its roots in two-way radio communications into a comprehensive communications, security and technology solutions provider serving businesses, public safety agencies, schools, healthcare organizations, utilities, government agencies and other organizations throughout Arkansas.

Today, our capabilities extend across critical communications, video security, access control, command center technology, in-building DAS/BDA coverage, software, wide-area radio systems, vehicle upfitting and ongoing service and support.

Through every stage of that growth, our focus has remained the same:

  • Understand the customer's operation.
  • Recommend the right technology.
  • Install it correctly.
  • Support it for the long term.

Arkansas Roots. More Than 50 Years of Experience.

AVC's history in Arkansas dates to 1975, when Arkansas Valley Communications began operations in Russellville.

The communications industry looked very different then. Two-way radio systems were primarily analog, today's broadband networks did not exist, and technologies such as AI-enabled video analytics, cloud-based access control and integrated command center software were decades away.

AVC evolved as those technologies evolved.

What began with deep expertise in two-way radio communications has expanded over the decades to encompass increasingly sophisticated voice, video, data and security technologies.

That history matters.

It means AVC understands not only today's technology, but the communications environments, infrastructure and operational requirements that came before it. Our team can help customers maintain and support existing systems while also planning for the technologies they will need next.

More than 50 years later, AVC remains headquartered in Russellville and has expanded to five locations serving organizations across Arkansas.

Five Locations. One Arkansas Team.

AVC has built a statewide presence so customers can combine advanced technology with local sales, engineering, installation and service resources.

Our five Arkansas locations include:

Fayetteville | Jonesboro | North Little Rock | Fort Smith | Russellville

From Northwest Arkansas to Central Arkansas, the River Valley, Northeast Arkansas and communities throughout the state, AVC provides customers with access to experienced professionals who understand both the technology and the environments in which it has to perform.

More Than Two-Way Radio

Two-way radio remains an important part of AVC's business, but today's organizations face challenges that extend far beyond voice communications.

AVC has expanded its capabilities to help customers address communications, coverage, security, situational awareness and operational technology as a connected strategy.

Critical Communications

From a few portable radios to complex multi-site networks, AVC designs and supports communication systems built around how personnel actually work.

Solutions include digital two-way radio, P25 public safety communications, broadband push-to-talk, dispatch, wide-area systems and related communications infrastructure.

Video Security & Access Control

Modern security systems do much more than record video.

AVC provides video security, analytics and access control technologies that can help organizations detect activity, understand what is happening and respond more effectively.

Solutions can include fixed and specialty cameras, cloud and on-premise video management, AI-enabled analytics, access control, license plate recognition, smart sensors and other security technologies.

Public Safety & Command Center Solutions

For law enforcement, fire, EMS, 911 centers and government organizations, AVC provides technology designed around mission-critical operations.

Our capabilities span P25 communications, dispatch, mobile video, body-worn cameras, in-car video, license plate recognition, command center software and other public safety technologies.

In-Building DAS & BDA Coverage

Reliable outdoor radio coverage does not always translate into reliable communications inside a building.

AVC provides professionally designed Distributed Antenna System (DAS), Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) and Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) solutions for facilities where building construction, size or layout can interfere with public safety or wireless communications.

Vehicle Upfitting

A modern public safety vehicle is a mobile technology platform.

AVC can integrate communications, in-car video, emergency lighting and warning, computers and tablets, consoles, mounting, thermal imaging, connectivity, power distribution and other equipment into a complete vehicle solution.

By approaching the vehicle as one integrated system, AVC can help agencies coordinate equipment placement, wiring, power, ergonomics and future serviceability.

System Design, Installation & Ongoing Service

The technology is only part of the solution.

AVC provides system design and engineering, installation, maintenance agreements, equipment repair, FCC licensing, tower services, rentals and other support capabilities designed to keep customers' systems operating over the long term.

From Individual Products to Integrated Solutions

One of the biggest changes in communications and security technology is that systems no longer have to operate independently.

Voice, video, data, analytics, access control and software can increasingly work together to give organizations a clearer picture of what is happening and help personnel respond more effectively.

AVC helps customers move beyond purchasing isolated products.

A project might begin with a radio coverage problem, an aging video system, poor communications inside a building or the need to outfit a new fleet of vehicles. Our job is to understand the larger operational requirement before recommending the technology.

That approach allows AVC to design solutions around the problem that needs to be solved—not simply the product that can be sold.

Technology Partners That Expand What We Can Deliver

No single manufacturer provides every technology needed by every customer.

AVC works with established technology partners whose products can be incorporated into broader communications, security, in-building coverage, dispatch and vehicle solutions.

These relationships allow AVC to bring together technologies across areas such as:

  • Critical communications
  • Dispatch and command center technology
  • Video security and access control
  • Public safety DAS/BDA systems
  • Thermal imaging
  • Emergency vehicle lighting and warning
  • Vehicle consoles and equipment mounting
  • 24/7 dispatch and control-room seating
  • Specialized public safety vehicle equipment

AVC's role is to help customers determine how those technologies fit together within the larger solution.

The AVC Difference

Experience You Cannot Manufacture Overnight

More than 50 years in communications provides perspective that cannot be gained from a product catalog.

AVC understands how systems perform in real environments—from manufacturing plants and hospitals to schools, public safety agencies, utilities, warehouses and large outdoor operations.

Local People. Local Service.

AVC is not simply shipping technology into Arkansas.

With five locations across the state, customers have access to local account managers, technicians, project resources and service capabilities.

Technical Expertise from Design Through Support

A successful technology project requires more than selecting equipment.

AVC can remain involved through system evaluation, design, engineering, installation, programming, integration, training, maintenance and repair.

That continuity gives customers one technology partner from the initial conversation through long-term system support.

24/7/365 Emergency Service

Mission-critical communications do not operate only during normal business hours.

AVC provides 24-hour emergency service, 365 days a year, helping customers get support when critical systems require attention.

In-House Service Capabilities

AVC provides in-house service for multiple brands of communications equipment, helping customers maintain existing technology as well as the newer systems being deployed throughout their organizations.

Dedicated Project Support

From an individual equipment requirement to a complex multi-location system, AVC provides dedicated account and project management resources focused on understanding the customer's requirements and coordinating the solution.

Inventory, Rentals and Fast Response

AVC maintains product inventory, provides short- and long-term radio rentals and offers pickup and delivery capabilities to help customers keep operations moving when equipment is needed quickly.

Serving Business, Government and Public Safety

Different industries use technology differently.

A manufacturing facility may need reliable communications across a noisy plant. A hospital may need communications, video security and access control across an entire campus. A utility may require wide-area communications for personnel working across hundreds of square miles. A police department may depend on P25 radio, dispatch, mobile video and properly integrated vehicle technology.

AVC works across a broad range of industries, including:

Construction | Education | Fire & EMS | Government | Healthcare | Hospitality | Law Enforcement | Manufacturing | Mining | Oil & Ga | Property Management | Recreation | Retai | Security | Transportation & Logistics | Utilities | Warehousing

Our approach begins with understanding the operating environment before determining which technology belongs in it.

Built Around the Customer, Not the Product

Technology decisions can become complicated quickly.

There may be multiple manufacturers, platforms, frequency options, licensing requirements, coverage considerations, software choices and integration possibilities.

Customers should not have to figure all of that out on their own.

AVC takes a consultative approach to help organizations understand their options, identify potential gaps and develop a solution appropriate for their operation, budget and long-term requirements.

That can mean designing an entirely new system.

It can also mean improving, expanding or maintaining technology a customer already owns.

The objective is not to introduce complexity. It is to make technology more reliable, more useful and easier for the organization to manage.

Service After the Sale

Installing a system is not the end of the relationship.

Communications and security technologies need programming, maintenance, software updates, repair, system changes and knowledgeable support throughout their operating life.

AVC's service capabilities are one of the reasons customers continue to rely on us long after the initial installation.

Our team provides support that can include:

  • Equipment repair
  • System troubleshooting
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Maintenance agreements
  • Programming and configuration
  • System expansion and upgrades
  • FCC licensing assistance
  • Tower construction and maintenance
  • Equipment rentals
  • Emergency service
  • Ongoing technical support

For AVC, long-term support is part of the solution—not an afterthought.

Proven in Mission-Critical Environments

Organizations across Arkansas rely on AVC for systems where communications and reliability have real operational consequences.

Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation turned to AVC when its existing analog communications system was no longer providing the coverage it needed. AVC helped guide the cooperative through the process of moving to the Arkansas Wireless Information Network and installing Motorola P25 APX equipment.

Following the transition, Craighead Electric reported 99+% coverage of its service territory, along with improved audio quality and an enhanced level of safety for personnel working in the field.

Russellville Police Department has also worked with AVC for decades. When the department needed to evaluate replacement options for aging analog repeater systems, AVC helped identify alternatives and supported the transition while keeping mission-critical communications operating.

Looking Forward

AVC has been part of Arkansas communications for more than five decades, but our focus is not on preserving the past.

It is helping customers prepare for what comes next.

Radio communications continue to evolve. Video systems are becoming more intelligent. Access control is moving to the cloud. AI is changing how organizations detect and understand events. Broadband and LMR networks are becoming increasingly interconnected. Command centers are bringing voice, video, data and operational intelligence together.

Through all of those changes, AVC's role remains remarkably consistent:

  • Understand the technology.
  • Understand the customer.
  • Bring the two together in a solution that works.
